Located in Marathon Key, Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort is a secluded, oceanfront retreat in the Florida Keys that treated us to a luxurious tropical paradise in the heart of America’s Carribean.

Lush gardens surround the hotel. There are towering coconut palms everywhere and the beach is really beautiful. It is the kind of place that puts you into quick holiday mode within minutes of your arrival! The management is really nice and helpful, too. Anytime you need it, they will give you bottle of water.

We stayed in Room 204, located on the second floor of the property overlooking the small swimming pool. The ambience is really restful, especially because the surroundings are very green. It takes absolutely no time to easily sink into your tropical holiday!

This is primarily the magic of Florida Keys. The sparkling waters, the year-round temperate and tropical climate, the many opportunities for fun on land or in the ocean, the many attractions around town – you come here and all your stresses just melt away. What a good feeling!

Somehow, the days seem sunnier here and the water more inviting. This is the kind of place that spoils you and makes you wonder why you have taken so long to get on this vacation?

The only danger here is you tend to enjoy too much that it is hard to leave!

The Rooms

Calm and ease pervade accommodations at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort. The rooms are upscale and made comfortable by plush amenities, dreamy beds, and beautiful conch-style design.

There are two options: two or three bedroom Beach Houses or Tropical Garden Guestrooms.

The Beach Houses are separate villas located on the ocean front. Oozing luxury, each feature gourmet kitchens, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, handmade furnitures, large porch areas, and sweeping views of the ocean.

Select from a Beachfront 3-Bedroom Beach House, Waterfront 3-Bedroom Beach House, Waterview 3-Bedroom Beach House, Beachfront 2-Bedroom Beach House, and Waterview 2-Bedroom Beach House.

The larger villas offer easy access to the swimming pools and sandy beach, are surrounded by palm trees, and have their own green landscaped lane leading to the doorstep.

Meanwhile, guests seeking intimacy should opt for the Tropical Garden Guestrooms. Private and intimate, these accommodation present affordable luxury with comfortable beds and private patios.

Choose between a Superior Double Queen, Tropical Garden Double Queen, or Tropical Garden King. The bigger rooms have more beds and en-suite bathrooms. Easy access to the restaurant and beach are provided, too.

But whatever you choose, count on it that you will be treated to maximum comfort and serenity. There is really no going wrong!

The Facilities

There is no running out of fun things to do at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort. Land activities are available, but of course, your dream holiday comes to life once you find pleasure in the water!

Putting green – Start your vacation on land and enjoy a round or two in this putting green by Nicklaus Design. But try not to get distracted by the beautiful surroundings!

Beach volleyball – Gather your friends and family and indulge in a friendly competition.

Spa – Pamper yourself through the in-room spa treatments and services. Choose from a wide list of relaxing massages, facials, and body treatments to find the rejuvenation that you need.

Swimming pools – There are three swimming pools on-site: a lagoon-style pool, an adults-only pool, and a tropical garden pool. The lagoon-style pool is the largest while the smallest is the tropical garden pool.

Swimming beach – This beach is really beautiful. Even if you spend the entire day here, you will have a good time!

Sunset Cruises – Something has to be said about enjoying the water from the deck of a boat and at sunset no less! It is a romantic experience, perfect if you are spending your holiday with a loved one!

Sailing – Experience the freedom that the ocean brings and set off on a sailing adventure! This is best if you are a family trying to have a good bonding experience in Florida Keys. The children are sure to love it!

Kayaks and jet skis – If you want a slower pace of fun, hop on a kayak and enjoy the water at your own pace. But for a bigger adrenaline rush, race on a jet ski and have fun.

Snorkeling and scuba diving – It is a whole new world down there! Explore the rich marine life of Florida Keys and take a peek in the glorious beauty under water, which includes shipwrecks and vibrant coral reef ecosystems.

Fishing – Some of the world’s best sportfishing happens in these waters. Try your hand at deep sea fishing, flats fishing, or bridge fishing. There are plenty of opportunities here and more important, lots of fish including marlin, tuna, yellow tail, grouper, barracuda, and snook.

The Food

Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort has a restaurant and bar but we did not eat here. The breakfast is not included in the accommodation but everything is very near from here since it is located in Marathon.

But if you cannot be bothered to step out and eat, you can try the on-site restaurant, Butterfly Cafe. It is popular for seafood and the use of local ingredients. It has a seasonal menu and a special menu for children. Gluten-free options are available, too.

Meanwhile, TJ’s Tiki Bar is an ideal sunset hangout. Situated on the beachside, you can have salads and paninis here along with draft beer or tropical drinks. It is not a bad way to cool down after a long day in the sun!

Sombrero Reef – A protected sanctuary, this site located at Mile Marker 50 is popular for snorkeling and diving.

Turtle Hospital – Just next to Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel & Resort, this place is dedicated to preserving sea turtles. Tours are provided, educating people on how sick and injured turtles are rehabilitated.

Crane Point – There is so much to do here! See the Museum of Natural History, Children’s Museum, Adderley Town Historic Site, and Marathon Wild Bird Center.

Pigeon Key – Step back in time and explore this historic place that shows the construction and maintenance camp for the Overseas Railroad way back in the early 1900s.

Seven Mile Bridge – Measuring 35,716 ft., this is the longest bridge in town!
